  • GLEE - should I be worried that my kids want to watch this or join in the fun?

Glee has become a a topic of conversation at our house. I have a 12 year old (my oldest) who wants to watch it and says that other kids her age are watching it. So far I haven't even let her watch PG-13 movies. I have asked around to the other moms if they thought it was okay and I get mixed reactions. What is interesting is those moms that have multiple kids and their youngest is 12 they seem to have no problem watching it and their attitude is well they are going to get introduced to the GLEE world sooner or later. Those of us who are just approaching the teenage years with our kids aren't so sure about these wiser older mothers attitude about Glee. Is it a teaching moment to watch the show together to discuss sex openly and teenage issues with my daughter? What do the rest of your think about Glee?

I am not a fan of Glee. I think the singing is awesome, but the underlying messages are a bit too much. If she just likes singing, the Singing Bee on CMT is fun, even American Idol, my 8 year old likes to watch. Maybe you should watch a few episodes without her around and use your best judgement.
