My kid is very afraid of water, and won't even stick her face in the pool My daughter is 8 years old and still won't stick her face in the water, or really do much in the swimming pool. She has had no bad "experiences" in a pool so not sure why she has this fear. Any suggestions on where we can start or what I should do to handle the fear of the water?

While searching around fro stuff to do today i found a place you should check out called Children of the Sea. It sounds like something that could help you with your daughters fear of the water.

I feel this answer is inappropriate
The only advice I can even think to offer is to get her in some swim classes. I don't know if it may help her to learn from someone that is not Mom or Dad.

when i learned how to swim my instructor had me do the motorboat sound in the water to make bubbles...from there i was able to put my face in the water...i was told if i did the bubbles in the water i would get a sticker on my chart of progress...
