  • Cupcakes or Birthday Cake for parties?

    It seems that parties are starting to serve cupcakes more than cakes. What does everyone think? Do the kids enjoy the cupcakes more, less fighting over the good stuff on the top of the cake?

If it's sugar the kids will love it. Cupcakes are easy clean up. Cakes can be bigger themed and creative. You choose!
(My wife loves Ice Cream Cake the best.)

I think it depends on you. I recently read about a man who's mom made the same cake every year and he still looks forward to it. So if your into tradition this is the way to start.

My son is going to be 3, and he prefers cupcakes just because he can eat and go, no plate, no fork. Can't say that's a downside myself, I see why he likes them. My aunt decorates cakes though, so last year she made a small swamp themed cake for the candles, and we had cupcakes and ice cream for everyone.
