Is "Bedtime Stories" the movie appropriate for a 5 yr old? My 5 year old has been wanting to see this movie, but I am not sure it would be appropriate. The trailers look like they may have some scary story scenes, but sometimes you just can't tell.

I think so. It was fun and had adult stuff and kid stuff mixed well into it.

Parents need to know that, unlike most Adam Sandler movies, this one is actually aimed at kids, so expect a lot of interest from elementary schoolers on up. The good news is that, also unlike most Sandler movies, there aren't any crass jokes, and both language ("butt kiss" is as wild as it gets) and sexuality (a couple of fairy-tale kisses and one brief scene of a clothed man and woman in a hot tub) are mild. The violence is also minor and mostly cartoonish, although there's some gunplay in the Wild West bedtime story.

I took my 8 year old and it was probably just the right age to see it. I think it would be to scary for a 5 year old and probably adult types suggestive scenes. If you want to see ratings and recommended ages for movies, websites, games, and books there is a great website called commonsensemedia.org
