Overview
Last updated Feb-6-12
Dreams of flight have captured the imaginations of children and adults alike for centuries. Captain Michael King Smith had a fascination with flight that began in childhood and continued throughout his short life. Captain Smith’s fierce dedication and passion for flying led to his dream of an aviation museum unlike any other – a living museum that celebrates aviation’s rich history, honors the patriotic service of our veterans and offers enlightening educational programs in aviation.

Wow! What a surprise. This place is fantastic. If you have a boy(s) this is a must see place. Tons of planes and the Spruce Goose is awesome! If you don't have time or the inclination to do both air and space, there is more to see in the air museum (they have seperate charges!). The Imax is cool but better for older kids (we have a 2 year old).

Where else can you see and tour the Spruce Goose? If you love airplanes, this is definitely a great place to go. It's even nicer now that they've added an OMNIMAX movie theater nextdoor.

My son went to see the Spruce Goose with his grandfather and came home with a love of aviation I could not imagine. He now has been back to the museum four times and never wants to leave. He has developed a love for World War II aircrafts like the ones on display and can identify a huge amount of aircraft and give an amazing amount of detail about their design.
