Some of our programs are for young children between two and ten years of age. We also offer programs for beginners of all ages and for family groups. New barn features indoor and outdoor arenas with an enclosed party room. Children come to play in the country with animals, to plant gardens, and to romp in fields. They also get to experience the connection with horses that makes any day better. We offer both group programs that introduce horses and horsemanship in a gentle, easy manner as well as private riding lessons for children and adults ready to explore riding more intensely. Established in 1995, Once Upon A Horse boasts an outstanding safety record and a truly stellar history of providing family fun. The owner, Susie Schramm, is WONDERFUL with children. She's encouraging and takes time to teach. The children were both mesmerized and excited by our four-hoofed friends. This is a great setting for kids who have never been on a horse or around a barn environment. They got to take turns riding the horse in an arena with an adult leading the horse around and just be in the barn for a couple of hours. Every kid needs to be in this setting with horsed to appreciate animals and taking care of animals. Was this helpful? We have been to 2 years worth of summer camps as well as we did a birthday party at the barn. Susie who runs the program is very good with the kids and has been riding herself for many many years. This is a good place to start riding and to really see if your kids are horse lovers. They learn about taking care of horses and the barn. My daughter fell in love with this place~! Was this helpful?
