An incredible, interactive science museum for all ages. We've been bringing our children here since they were infants. With an upstairs (one way out) infant/toddler area I've found a play space that's educational, as well as, fun. An OMSI membership makes for constant play and new activities monetarily accessible in rainy Oregon. All memberships come with tickets to the Planetarium too! My family of 6 HIGHLY recommends OMSI!

One of the only places, that I know of, where you can take your kids (from any age) and have a great time yourself. we usually spend most of our time upstairs in the toddler area. I love that they have so many different kinds of exhibits. I would recommend to bring a spare change of clothes because a good part of their exhibits are centered around water

I love this place. There is something for every age. I have 5 children ranging from infant to pre-teen and here evryone can have a great time and learn without it seeming boring. They offer family year passes very reasonably. It sure makes a great family christmas present.

I think omsi is a wonderful place to learn and have fun. Being that I have 5 children and their ages range from infant to pre-teen, this is a place where everyone can be entertained...which is very hard to find.

$2 sunday is the first sunday of every month and you can avoid the $2 parking cost by parking at PCC's workforce training center.omsi's parking lot is always to full. its ridiculous on the $2 sunday with all these people acting crazy and the lines huge, but its totally worth the money you save

My son just had a sleepover at OMSI, and had a blast! We have been to OMSI quite a few times, and it's fun...the first few times, but they don't change the exhibits that often, so if you've been more than two or three times, it gets a little old...or unless they have a really cool exhibit...my son said that he went to the CSI exhibit when they had it last year, and it was a lot of fun!
My husband remembers some of the exhibits from when he was a kid and it was located up by the zoo where the children's museum is now!

OMSI is great! They have really come a long way. As a child I used to go to the old site up by the zoo, and I loved it. I found it boring when it relocated. Two years ago I returned as a parent and I was amazed at all they have done. OMSI is fun again. My children love it.

Omsi is a family favorite. Kids are free to explore and get their hands dirty so to speak. My kids love the physics lab and could spend the day there. The fantastic exhibits they have had over the past few years have held a special place in my kids memories. The blue back submarine is an amazing piece of military engineering that provides a unique opportunity for learning.

OMSI has been a favorite of mine since childhood. I lived in Southern Oregon and my parents made a trip to OMSI when I was nine and OMSI was over by the zoo instead. It has always had things that make you think and impress you with knowledge.
I take a group there every year. We go see the exhibits, spend some time at the brain teasers, have lunch in the cafeteria, and then hit the OMNIMAX before leaving. I have taken groups through the Planetarium as well and they are always educational. Though sad, the kids are very interested in see the fetuses in the baby wing. They are amazed at how small they were and what a testament to life from conception!
They also like the chemistry lab and the light lab where they get to see holograms and the light spectrum. In the physics lab, I have to drag the kids away from the Van de Graff generator where they hold hands and watch their hair stand up or hold a pie tie which flies from their hand. There is an inventor’s lab where kids rewire and shoot balls at each other.
If you are coming with a group you can call ahead and ask for a lunch bin to store your lunches in while you are in the museum. Outside OMSI is the USS Blueback submarine which was in use for 31 years in the Pacific. The bunks are the most interesting as they were very small! OMSI is a great place, you should go take your family or group soon and see what they have to offer.

My children LOVE OMSI. We can go for a couple of hours, or an entire day and stay entertained. We love the 'Ball Room' where they can work on how 'wind power' affects the speed of the balls to how adding extra bends to the build decreses how far a ball will go. The Physics Lab provides hours of fun with the multiple experiments led by trained employees & volunteer. We have also enjoyed the Sub Tour, and hope to do a birthday overnight soon. OMSI is always a favorite spot of ours for an 'unplanned' day.

We went to the mindbender mansion exhibit at OMSI. As the title says, it was mind boggling. I would say that all the parents were having a great time, but the different games, etc... were really to hard for my 8 year old. This is probably far more appropriate for an older child 10+.
My younger kids always love the science lab with the sand pit and the water. They could spend hours in there. I also like it because it is all in one room and enclosed.
