Curious Productions is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation and is the first non-profit theater in Portland to be devoted entirely to the art of comedy.
Comedy has played a vital role in human society for centuries - from Aristophanes of Ancient Greece, Chaucer in the Middle Ages, the Kings’ court jesters of the Elizabethan era, the Hopi Indians’ sacred clowns, to Mark Twain, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Comedy and satire have served - and continue to serve - as a means of exposing our individual and societal vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings with the artistry of humor so we are better able to hear, see and accept our flaws, and, ideally, make improvements in our behavior in the future.
Curious Productions’ mission is to further the art of comedy through new and creative approaches to improv, sketch, and film comedy for both adults and children. Stacey Hallal founded Curious Productions in hopes of providing our community with a forum to reflect on our behavior in a way that is fun, safe, insightful and full of laughter. We feel that this ability to reflect ourselves back to ourselves is especially important in Portland during these times of rapid and radical growth and change, and in our country during this time of such social, political, and religious polarization

The Curious Garden is back! Come see our old friends Razzie the Fairy, Daisy the Flower, and Jojo the Lawnjockey; and meet our new garden friends Ribbit the Frog, Dottie the Ladybug, and Flappy the Chicken! The Curious Garden is a show for all ages, especially kids 0-8. The show ends with an open mic where you can sing, dance, tell a joke, and show off your talent at The Curious Garden.
