Natural Childbirth Classes a four week series for expecting parents. The classes incorporate tools from many different methods of childbirth education such as: Lamaze, Bradley, hypnobirth and Birthing from Within. The main strength of biodynamic classes is that the classes are individualized to each family. Some topics covered in the classes are:
*Nutrition through pregnancy and postpartum.
*Comfort techniques for pregnancy and labor.
*The anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and birth.
*Common fears associated with birth and exploration of your own unique fears.
*Art activities surrounding the issues of birth and parenthood.
*How to work with the hormones of labor and postpartum.
*Postpartum depression prevention and information.
*Breast-feeding information and how to establish a good start with breast-feeding.
*Information about parenting such as green parenting, attachment parenting and co-sleeping (which means sleeping close to your baby).
*Partner strategies for pregnancy and postpartum: How to effectively communicate with each other and maintain a close relationship through the transition to parenthood.
*Art activities focused on healthy family growth processes.

David Freleng Bring His Shadow Puppet Theatre to Milagros Every Friday at 10:30am!
This performance/workshop is designed to have the participants create their own shadow puppet play. Using simple materials, children are encouraged to let their creativity and imagination run rampant as they are in control of what happens in the story. You will be floored by the performances your kids and their friends will create.

The group is open to all, there is no charge.

Infant Massage is very beneficial for easing pain associated with colic, gas, constipation, and teething. The relaxing nature of massage also helps reduce stress, helping baby and you sleep better. Other benefits include: strengthening the immune, hormonal, circulatory, nervous, and digestive systems, as well as teaching the infant about healthy touch. Through infant massage parent and child form a stronger bond and learn to communicate better.
Lisa Carlascio, owner of Baby My Sweet Baby, will provide a demonstration of massage strokes appropriate for use with infants. This class will also cover the benefits of infant massage, some non-verbal cues of infant distress, and the types of oils that should and should not be used for infant massage. Space is limited; please RSVP to ensure a spot.

Pfeifer MusicWerks Studio Presents at Milagros “Piano Pixies” introduction to piano class. This free class is designed to give students’ ages 3-5 years old and their parents a taste of the enjoyment of playing piano and music instruction at Pfeifer MusicWerks Studio for the preschool student.
If you love the idea of your young child taking piano lessons and enjoying it then this class is for you! This isn’t the same music lessons you took from the little old neighborhood lady piano teacher. Come and meet teachers from the Pfeifer MusicWerks Studio and see how we teach creative piano lessons to your preschool student, while providing a structured and nurturing environment.

Diaper Free Baby Meetings are at Milagros on the third Wednesday of the month, 1 pm - 3 pm.
Diaper Free Baby of Portland is a local, free support group that helps promote a natural approach to responding to babies’ elimination needs. This practice is followed worldwide and is known as Elimination Communication, Natural Infant Hygiene, and Infant Potty Training. The process involves observing one’s baby’s signs and signals, providing cue sounds and elimination-place associations, and can be done with or without any diaper use.
